A hop, skip and a splash!

Crivens it's been a while since I last updated the blog! Above is a character from a Chelsea Building Society banner advert. A pleasant little fellow in a souwester, don't you agree? (How often do you get to draw a souwester for a client? Not often!) It was commisioned and animated by the good folks over at True Digital. Look out for it gracing the tops of websites all over the interweb.

As an aside, lots of exciting things going on at My Broken Shoe, keep your eyes peeled (or use the rss feed) for more updates.

Happy Halloween (part 2)

Here's the finished Halloween image. Complete with feet hands and different colour blob, score board and wall paper. Hopefully it feels alot more atmospheric. I also added a nice sepia tone over the top. (something I used to over use!)

You can see it bigger by clicking here

Maybe next year I'll finish it on time...

A Tweak and an Update

As mentioned yesterday I have recently been tweaking the portfolio section and have just uploaded it. I wanted to acheive three main points with the redesign:

•Firstly to improve on the size of the main images. With increased details the image sizes no longer seemed suitable with much detail being lost.
•Secondly to reduce the distracting nature of the thumbnails. I always felt the colours clashed with the image on show.
•Finally I wanted to start out the inconsistency with the two news sections, the front page and this, the blog.

After much head scratching I realised I could conquer the first two points by moving the thumbnails to a seperate page and thus releasing much needed space. I have also widened the whole site a touch. The third point was sorted by removing the front page so that you land directly into the portfolio. Although an abrupt entry to the site I figured as that is what most folks are here for it made sense.

There are further additions that will appear soon, including an archive and some easter eggs. - geeky I know, what can I say?

Anyway, enough explanations have an explore, I hope you like the new version.
